Apartments in Spain, according to our terminology, are just flats that are suited for living for 1 person or families also. (Urbanizaciones) The second ones usually have their own territory with gardens and swimming pools, and additional characteristics like tennis courts, etc., which are suited for usage by the owners of flats.

Also there are 1-room apartments, called Studios because they only consist of 1 room that is divided into sections like living room-bedroom-kitchen and a bathroom. Additionally there are flats with 1 bedroom (meaning they contain 2 rooms), with 2 or more bedrooms.
